An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Control Systems Engineer
Design, test, and commission control systems in accordance with Company, customer, and legislative requirements

Main Responsibilities:
Team
- Mentor and coach junior staff.
- Liaise with customers and internal design/management team.
- Prepare and review control system design, build and testing specifications and O&M manuals to the required standard.
• Design and test control systems in accordance with agreed specifications, applicable standards, and legislative requirements.
• Provide technical supervision of system design, build and installation personnel.
• Support Project Managers with project planning and progress/effort to come estimation.
• Support tendering activity, with cost estimation, technical proposals, and presentation
Specialism
- Unsupported development of control system software to meet project needs.
• Support the development of software standards for improved efficiency.
• Support training and the roll-out of software standards and approaches to the wider team.
• Onsite commissioning and testing of control systems while adhering to site regulations.
• Review design and testing of control systems in accordance with agreed specifications, applicable standards, and legislative requirements.
General
- Work with Project Management team to ensure delivery of projects on time, in budget and to the agreed specifications.
• Ensure all control systems are designed and tested in accordance with agreed specifications, applicable standards, and legislative requirements.
• Conduct all relevant processes in accordance with the Company’s HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain Company records and ensure the safe operation of all equipment to comply with current legislative and Company standards.
• Follow all required business procedures.
• Carry out other duties as required and appropriate to the role.
The Person:
- Qualified to HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant discipline and extensive experience in system
integration, or substantial experience in systems integration, with lower qualifications.
• Excellent ability to understand and produce control system design documents.
• Excellent understanding of technical project life cycle.
• Familiarity with programming environments such as CodeSys / Straton / Beckhoff.
• High level of software experience with:
• E C & I System for in-process and manufacturing environments PLC-based control system architecture
• HMI and SCADA coding
• High-level general-purpose programming languages such as Python, .C#, or Java.
• Communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP-IP, OPC etc.
• Integrated system testing of application software.
• Practical experience of machinery safety design and associated standards
• On-site commissioning of industrial control systems
• Customer training
• Working knowledge of industrial hardware systems
o Control panel design and assembly
o C & I site installation design
o Control system hardware LV distribution/MCC/PLC/safety/instrumentation
o Hardware design documents (circuit schematics, I/O schedules, motor schedules)
• A strong background in industrial automation, or significant experience in a similar market or technology.
• Preferred sector – Water/Wastewater, Oil & Gas Tank Storage and Distribution and Manufacturing
• Accomplished level of experience with one or more of the following: Beijer, Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider,
Wonderware SCADA and HMI platforms with an appetite to learn new technologies.
• Accomplished level of experience with one or more of the following: Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, and
Mitsubishi PLC platforms, with an appetite to learn new technologies.
• Accomplished level of experience with Industrial Ethernet and one or more of the following: DeviceNet, Profibus,ProfiNe
