Actemium Mechanical, part of the VINCI Energies group, is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Pipe Welder to join our high-performing and inclusive team. Key Responsibilities – Pipe Welding, Mechanical Fabrication & Installation
- Carry out welding, fabrication, and assembly of piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys, following technical drawings and specifications (isometrics, P&IDs).
- Prepare, align, and weld pipework (TIG) to high-quality standards in both workshop and site environments.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, ensuring precision and compliance with all relevant standards and codes.
- Conduct and support pressure testing, inspections, and flushing of welded pipework.
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, following company and site safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with pipe fitters, supervisors, engineers, and project teams to achieve project deliverables on time and in full.
- Represent Actemium Mechanical professionally when engaging with clients and other site stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Skills – Pipe Welding Careers in Mechanical Engineering
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Welding, Pipe Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar industry apprenticeship/qualification.
- Strong, hands-on experience in pipe welding within industrial, commercial, or process environments (such as energy, water, food, or manufacturing).
- Proficient in TIG welding of carbon steel and stainless steel pipework.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (isometric, GA, and P&ID).
- Commitment to safe working practices and a sound understanding of health and safety procedures on engineering/construction sites.
- Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel to client locations and project sites as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
Desirable Capabilities – Pipework Fabrication, Pressure Testing & Site Experience
- Experience with site welding and installation on major mechanical pipework projects.
- CCNSG Safety Passport, CSCS, or equivalent site safety certificate (training can be provided).
- Familiarity with pressure testing, hydrotesting and commissioning of plant systems.
- Experience working on shutdowns, turnarounds, or large-scale industrial fit-out projects.
- MMA, and/or MIG welding (desirable)
